Completed Projects

Here you'll find some of my completed projects!

Percy Jackson's Sword, Riptide

This summer I decided to create a prop from one of my favorite book series of all time, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Percy's weapon, Riptide, is a pen that turns into a sword when it's uncapped. Using Inventor, I 3D modeled a collapsible blade and pen-shaped hilt/case, then 3D printed it on my Prusa MK3S printer. I'm really happy with how it turned out and can't wait to use it!

Fiverr and Etsy Online Shops

After my first year of PLTW, I decided to start working as a freelancer offering 3D modeling and printing services. To date, I've created hundreds of models, done over $15,000 in revenue, and have maintained a perfect 5 star rating!

Ethics in Engineering

Our first unit in PLTW was focused on the ethics involved in engineering. My group did our first assignment on the Surfside Miami Condo Collapse. We also watched Monster's Inc. and conducted a debate about whether the CEO's actions in the films were justified.

Simple Solution Presentation

We recently completed a project in which we made a presentation on a simple solution of our choice. I decided to go with Velcro. It turns out, Velcro has a very interesting history, which I really enjoyed learning about!

Halloween Animatronic

Our first big project was to create a Halloween themed animatronic that we could display for the school. I joined forces with Amelia, Kim and Elisa (or as we like to call ourselves, CAKE) and we decided to make a Harry Potter themed animatronic. To the right, you can see a picture of what we came up with. Click on the button to see more!

PLTW Capstone Project

I've been working all year long on a capstone engineering project with my group mates, Anna and Jack. To the right, you can see a picture of the final product for our project, OptimEyes! Our goal was to create a 3D printable pair of glasses whose prescription could be adjusted. While we didn't quite get that far, we did end up with a pretty cool concept for a 3D printable lens! While the magnification isn't perfect, the lens is adjustable by the user, and can make objects both bigger and smaller. There's also a photo of the lens making Anna's eye appear smaller.
